A Message from the Executive Director, Donna Chang
"Every year, I have the good fortune to write about the great things and the great people that make Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House a welcoming place in our community. Every year, I can showcase the lead role we play in school age child care, the innovation in supporting frail seniors, the discovery of Neighbourhood leaders and the partnerships to build capacity for families with young children. What I know we do best is to take our beliefs of social justice, of belonging, of working together and of learning together as a thread that binds everything we do. This year we strengthened our work by focusing on the development of the Edible Garden Initiative; on deepening our role to improve the lives of frail seniors and vulnerable children in our community; and of playing a role to help new immigrant neighbours to connect and belong in our neighbourhoods. This annual report will offer stories about this work we have done in 2012-2013. Thank you to all the board, staff, neighbours and volunteers who have helped us to learn, grow and be better in all that we do at Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House."
