Community Carnival

Saturday, June 5th, 2010

CEDAR COTTAGE 18th ANNUAL COMMUNITY CARNIVAL


Location: Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House -
4065 Victoria Drive

Admission: FREE

Time: 10am-4pm

Cake walk, silent auction, ethnic lunch, bake sale, dunk tank, kids' carnival, flea market, food, fun and games, prizes, face painting, clowns, bingo, entertainment, fun for all ages!



Family CampSummer 2010 TBA - Family Camp
Location: Sasamat Outdoor Centre, Belcarra
Cost: TBA (approx $60/adult, $45/child)

Come join us for our family camp overnight stay and enjoy a weekend of fun filled adventure! We will have catered meals, time for canoeing, kayaking, swimming in Sasamat Lake, hikes, arts and crafts, and even a campfire with songs and stories! Our accomodations will be the rustic cabins and cottages of Sasamat Outdoor Centre.


HalloweenFall 2010 TBA - Good Neighbours Awards
Location: Italian Cultural Centre

The Good Neighbours Awards celebration is an annual event hosted by the Association of Neighbourhood Houses of Greater Vancouver (ANH) to honour volunteers who have made significant contributions to their neighbourhoods and communities. For the past twenty-two years we have been celebrating neighbours and neighbourhoods at a special annual dinner and awards ceremony. Send in your nominations. SPRING/SUMMER 2010

Seniors' Supper Club
Time: Wednesday 4-6:30pm, Cost: $3
Seniors share supper and stories with others from our neighbourhood.

Cards & Games Drop In
Time: Friday 2-4pm, Cost: free
Share a game of mahjong, crib or cards over a cup of tea. Any age is invited to join our Seniors Cards and Games Afternoon.

Parent and Child Discovery Drop Ins
Locations: Selkirk, Queen Alexandra, Dickens, Beaconsfield and Secord Elementary school, Cost: free
Free program for parents, grandparents and caregivers in the KCC neighbourhoods. Call 874-4231 for times of individual schools

Parent and Child Mother Goose
Times: Saturday mornings, Cost: free, call to register
Rhymes, songs & stories for you and your child 2-3 years old.

First Nations Family Night
Time: Tuesdays 6-8:30pm, Cost: free
Aboriginal families come together to share a meal and enjoy learning traditional arts & crafts and having fun with your children.
